The Bic Vase
This was an inspired piece. As i was looking through a design website i saw the pen vase and i thought, that it was a funky idea and and would be fun to reenact.
I started with a basic Black Bic Pen and i started to melt it over a gas stove ... stupid friggen idea!! Melted the whole pen basically and it melted through the pen so i was unable to actually blow the pen to create the bubble.
This was my first attempt at the gas oven and it was one of the better ones. It singed most of the plastic however there was just enough plastic to be able to blow to make a little bubble, but not the desired effect.
I then decided that the gas oven was not a good idea I then chose to use a tea light candle. It was much better because the flame was more directed to one spot. And heated up just the right area.
This is the process i took to get the Bic Vase to the ideal shape.

Once the process is done then you can start to fill the pen with water. Carefuly drizzle the water into the pen, making sure that there isnt to much flow to break the newly formed bubble. you need to plug the little hole in the side of the pen other wise the water will slowly seep out the sides.
