The idea of ‘hotting up’ your car has been changed, in this digital world to hotting up your computer. Soon and even now we are seeing computers as the product of choice to ‘hot up’.
Case mods with lights and screens and LCD displays, even fish tanks are sold by companies to millions of computer lovers around the world. To these computer lovers they are their pride and joy. So why not mod them, show them off to the world. Make them a piece of furniture that belongs in the house and is a centre piece. Windows are created to show the inside workings of the computer just like a car enthusiast would lift up the bonnet of the car and show of the engine.

Although different colour ranges and shapes are now available on the market, computer manufacturers are not able to create unique and personalised computers. This clears the way for Modder’s. I believe that this is leaving a window for the enthusiasts to express themselves through their computer. If the manufacturers are not creating the best looking computers, Modder’s around the world can set about creating a unique computer that is their own.
Each of these, computer loving Modder’s has their own reasons for modifying their computer. Whether it be, for functionality or aesthetics it does seem to be the digital age’s very own hobby.
