Lids of Utility
From Mod Mania
Almost anyone can afford to buy one. One type or another have been used for thousands of years and today, pens rank among the most widely used writing instruments. One component of the pen that is greatly misused is the lid. A pen lid is a cover which goes over the top of a pen to stop the ink from escaping. Other common uses of the pen lid are as follows:
- To clip to your pocket.
- To prevent unnecessary marking.
- To protect the point.
- Something to chew on.
- As a projectile.
- Or to scratch your head.
The pen along with its lid is also one of the first products of the 'throw away culture' in which we now live in. This project will examine the different and unusual possibilities in which the pen lid can be utilized to ensure that the pen will live on, other than just being an instrument to scribble an idea down.
