A lot of the people nowadays are using the internet to start social groups, a popular and easy way to communicate between each of the members around the world is by using Window Live Messenger and ICQ Messenger. However, there are other groups which prefer to communicate with other members using their own way such as Facebook, Flickr, Forums and YouTube.
There are different types of community groups on the internet, such as chat rooms, email, information sharing and forums. MSN, ICQ and QQ are good examples of the more popular chat rooms that people use. The function of the chat room is quite similar with Email, the only difference between Email and a chat room is that by using a chat room, people can instantly send and receive messages between each other without waiting, whereas email takes more time for one person to send a message to another. Nowadays, chat rooms has been developing and improving by adding extra functions such as the webcam and microphone function. Because of this development, people can now have face to face video calling with their family and friends in front of the computer anytime, anywhere. This development lets people feel closer to the people that they are talking to. Chat room is considered as the most popular and common way of the communication group on the internet world.
Forums are also an easy way to communicate and share files between users in a small community over the internet. People can find a lot of different types of materials in different sections of the forum such as movies, music, photos, news, software and games. Besides file sharing, the forum is also use for socializing. If there is something someone would like to talk about, that person can simply create a topic or discussion room on the page. An interesting thing about forums is that there are different rules in different forums, if a person ever breaks the rule, the forum manager can block the message and everything that person tries to send. Forums have a very close relationship with the other websites such as YouTube, Game Zone and other uploading websites. The reason that forums are very closely connect with these websites is that because even though forums are have handy, they cannot upload movies or music on it for people to download, so they link to alternative websites that can view videos or download music such as YouTube or torrent sites.
YouTube is a kind of information sharing website. Flickr is one of the information sharing website. People would like to upload their photos on the Flickr. It likes a photographic club. Some of the photos can download. People would like to post their comment under the photos. Therefore, Flickr also like a small community as well. However, Flickr is different with forum and YouTube. Flickr is the website that only can see and upload the photos, but YouTube can upload the movie and music. As the result, YouTube has more communicated than Flickr.
YouTube is a website which a user can upload clips onto the internet for other people to view and comment. The function of YouTube was originally used for people sharing information. However, people nowadays are using YouTube to make a discussion, teaching, argument or even their own point of view on things, people are replying to the discussion by making a short film of themselves to reply the other peoples message from the clip. People also post their opinion under the clip after they’ve finished watching. Even though YouTube is very handy, but there are also a lot of copyright problems, because people can upload movies to YouTube, many of the movies have copyright on them, so YouTube has to create rules to protect copyright. Meanwhile, it is also within the law for people to upload their own homemade movies onto YouTube. YouTube doesn’t allow any pornography movie to be uploaded onto the website and also has a parental filter lock which doesn’t allow kids that are under 18 to watch films that could contain nudity or extreme violence. Because of that, YouTube has established a good public image for free video uploading.
Communication is a very important thing for human. People like to make a club to communicate with each other. People nowadays are using internet to communicate, because they realize that internet is very wide and convenience. People want to make fun and more lifelikeness, so they use YouTube to upload their home make movie to communicate with the other people. This is a huge development of internet society.
