From Open Source Urbanism
The Open Source Urbanism site is based on MediaWiki, the free software wiki package originally written for Wikipedia. MediaWiki provides a simple user interface for creating and editing web pages making it very easy to create and edit web content. This can generally be achieved without prior training or detailed technical knowledge. MediaWiki does however have a distinct syntax for formatting text and creating links and knowing this syntax will help you get the most out of the wiki environment. MediaWiki maintains a comprehensive User's Guide which provides detailed instructions on using the wiki software; questions on how to edit pages, create links, or upload images may be answered by consulting this guide.
For a basic introduction to wiki formatting we have prepared the following pdf document.

If you have a question relating specifically to content on the Open Source Urbanism site or the associated research project at RMIT then these question are best asked on the discussion page connected to the information you are inquiring about. For example, if you're asking about "Help" then you would click the discussion tab above and edit the discussion page (generally adding your question/comment to the bottom of any existing text). Alternatively you can email opensourceurbanism [at] openobject [dot] org
Note: You will need to log in/create an account to edit the Open Source Urbanism website.
