openobject.org hosts projects by Scott Mitchell, a Melbourne based artist and academic. Scott is interested in the social structures that form around objects and acts of making. Many of the projects presented here build upon existing DIY practices and feed back into these amateur communities through the sharing of construction methods and build narratives. In general these projects trace a meeting of art, science and DIY production within the field of art and design.
