Science-Art Club, 2009 – 2010

Developed through the Arts Victoria Artists in Schools program, the Science-Art Club engaged with students and staff at Brunswick Secondary College.

The club consisted of a lunchtime activity where year 7, 8, and 9 students constructed experimental projects, including the building of a giant smoke ring generator. The Science-Art Club T-shirt design was created by Project Coordinator, Lara Stanovic.

In 2010 the Science-Art Club reunited with a public performance of the Giant Smoke Ring Generator. Exhibited as part of West Space’s contribution to ‘Structural Integrity’, a Next Wave keynote project. The opening night presentation involving 6 original members of the Science-Art Club from Brunswick Secondary College, hyped-up on pizza and soft drink. Co-ordinated by Scott Mitchell and supported by Phip Murray and Karen Ferguson.
