the Repair Workshops, 2011

This week long event coordinated by Leyla Acaroglu and Emma Grace brought together eight designers, artists and technicians to re-imagine societies relationship to consumer waste. The project challenged the disposable nature of consumption through revealing alternative modes of consumer engagement. These alternate practices were made visible through a public exhibition and participatory workshop at Donkey Wheel House, Melbourne as part of the 2011 Sate of Design Festival.
