– iPod screen displays “ok to disconnect”
– not recognised by computer unless “HOLD” is on
Restored iPod Software with iPod updater
– installation completed without incident
Restarted iPod
– iPod boots to standard menu
Connected to Mac
– iPod not recognised by computer over FireWire (but will charge)
– iPod sometimes recognised by computer over USB, behaviour erratic
Cleaned dock connector
– iPod behaving normally with HD replaced
Report:
Faulty HD. Replaced with HD from Job 2, iPod now fully operational.
